The Great Past

2024. 12. 05. – 2025. 01. 10.

Ervin Páljános, sculptor, was born in Budapest in 1959. He studied at the Secondary School of Fine and Applied Arts between 1973 and 1978, and at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts between 1978 and 1982. His masters were József Somogyi and Miklós Borsos.

He lives and works in Szentendre. He is active in the fields of small sculpture, exhibition sculpture and monumental sculpture: he has created numerous commissioned public compositions, the most important of which are portraits and monuments in Szentendre.

Since 1992, he has presented numerous collections of small sculptures and graphics in solo exhibitions (Budapest, Vác, Szentendre, Târgu Mures, etc.). In Etyek, he presents his wood sculptures created between the 1990s and the present day, which depart from naturalistic representation, are expressive in tone, evoke archaic motifs and create a sovereign plastic world.
