Virgin Mary’s Houses
2022. 02. 02. – 2022. 03. 06.
“I started my artistic career as a wood-restorer at the Open Air Museum of Ethnography. I restored wooden sculptures from several church collections. I was a student of the sculptor and chief conservator Kálmán Németh in Fót. I am attracted to different artistic disciplines: as an amateur actor I worked in the Street Theatre and in the Theatre of Erzsi Gaál. I also have a varied background in visual arts: I used to draw, make puppets, design costumes and weave pictures. My sister-in-law Daniella Lucza and my son Sebestyén are connected to the family. We worked together on the shows and exhibitions of the Street Theatre. Now I am presenting a few pieces from my own series. The Mary’s Houses are made of old, strange materials; repetition and uniqueness are combined in my work.” Zsuzsanna Lucza
