Györgyi Csókos Varga, a visual and applied artist and master of weaving and yarn dyeing, was born one hundred years ago, on January 5th, 1926. To mark this occasion, a commemorative volume entitled Life Woven from Light – Györgyi Csókos Varga’s Heritage published, containing numerous professional and personal accounts from more than seventy authors, including family members, friends, students, and colleagues.
Györgyi Csókos Varga graduated from the College of Fine Arts as a student of István Szőnyi, Aurél Bernáth, Géza Fónyi, and Jenő Barcsay, together with her husband, Lajos Csákvári Nagy.
