Psychoactive Mist
2023. 05. 18. – 2023. 06. 18.

‘At first, I only felt that as a painter mist touches me with its theme. I didn’t attach any sign to it. Then slowly, from painting to painting, I started to examine this quietly secure, stubbornly recurring interest towards it. I had to realise that there is no other phenomenon to outline or deploy in my life and in my relation to the world, nor in my perception of the world, but mist, which coats everything thicker and thicker.
It is mist, which blurs everything, hides both beautiful and ugly, slows down motion, narrows the horizon, spreads the light, distances from verbal limits, conveys lifelessness, disorients, which only lets presuming, in which it is great to submerge like in nirvana, and which is itself relative as well, which has an almost underwater like strangeness, by which we find ancient fears in ourselves, through which another, foreign world appears, which we soon have to enter inevitably, through which some fundamental pointlessness looms, which can even be beautiful, and in a deeper level means the following to me:
I don’t believe any longer what they say. I don’t even believe in what I see. I can’t believe in what I was, yet my present existence has become fictive as well. But I’m still trying to outline what has happened to me/us, even though the occurrences, the directions and aims, as well as the real shapes and content of those notions that are supposed to convey them are hardly visible in this strange, inhuman, suffocating mist. Theoretically I have reached the top of my mental capacities, still I can’t see clearly, therefore I can’t make responsible decisions. I fumble in the mist, I have to even slow down at a sudden real or assumed appearance of some insignificant objects, and I don’t know any longer where the way bends. I can only sense one thing for sure in this haze: it’s getting dark.’
